Q: Excel says Macros are disabled because security is set too high. How do I get Ready Reports to launch with toolbars and dropdowns and links working?
A: Open a blank Excel workbook. Go to Tools>Macro>Security. Select either Medium (recommended) or Low and close the workbook. Choosing Medium means you will be prompted each time you launch Ready Reports-choose Enable Macros. If you are running Excel 2007, click the Office Button in the upper left corner -  >Excel Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Macro Settings.
Q: How do I check which version of Office I'm running?
A: In Excel, go to Help>About Microsoft Office Excel. Take note of the entire first line (eg. ). If you have Excel 2007, click the Office Button in the upper left corner - >Excel Options>Resources>about Microsoft Excel 2007
Q: SQL Server does not exist or access is denied.
A: This message means the connection to your datasource is either lost or is incorrect. To troubleshoot, do the following:
1. Check the Connections tab in the Admin form. If you are connecting to any ReadyReports™ service using the Web, first check your computer to be sure you have internet connectiviy. You should be able to reach an outside website such as a Google, msn.com, etc. If you do not have internet service, reconnect to it and try opening ReadyReports™ again.
2. Ensure that the Web url is http://www.ODADevel.com/ReadyReports/.
3. If you are connectng to ReadyReports™ on your network, check (on the Connections tab in the Admin form) to be sure the connection string is correct. Click on Modify if you need to change it. Usually you would only need to modify Catalog, which should be the exact name of the database, and DataSource, which should be the exact name of the server where your database is located. For example: Catalog=ReadyReports;Data Source=Hosting1\H12005, where ReadyReports™ is the database name and Hosting1\H12005 is the server name. If in doubt about the database or server name, consult your dba or IT department.
Q: Error - Cannot open database 'wrongname' requested by the login. The login failed.
A: This error occurs when you are connecting to the database via your company's network, but the database name is either incorrect or the database itself has not yet been installed on your network. Check the name and spelling of the database name in the Connections tab in the Admin form and modify if necessary. If you are unsure about the database or server name, or if the database has been installed, consult your dba or IT department.
Q: Error - Compile Error in Hidden Module
A: If you are running the Windows 2000
operating system, you may need download the latest version of MSXML. Click here to download MSXML 6.0. Download and install the file name 'msxml6.msi'. Close down your Ready Reports application and re-open it and the error should be gone.
Q: With what versions of MS Office is Ready Reports compatible?
A: Ready Reports™ supports Microsoft Office 2002 (XP), 2003 and 2007.
Q: Can I change the logo on my Ready Reports workbook?
A: Yes you can, if you have Admin permissions. Click on the Admin link on the Cover to open the Admin form. On the General tab, click on the Add button next to 'Add Logo'. Navigate to the graphic you wish to use, and click 'Ok'. Acceptable file types are .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, and .bmp.
